In memoriam

I am writing this in memoriam of a little girl

A girl with the imagination of a unicorn on molly

A girl who wanted to grow up into a lady

And who did, a little too soon, even for her own liking

I am writing this in memoriam of a teenage terror

The not so svelte one who saw herself, only as others did

The teenager who knew more words than anyone her age

And forgot most of them when she talked to someone she liked

I am writing this in memoriam of a young woman

One who loved and hated money for the first time

One who loved and hated people for the first time

One who loved and hated herself for the first time

One who loved and hated everything for the first time

I am writing this in memoriam of lessons learnt and fingers burnt

Things went from black or white to hazy beyond belief

Choices went from good or bad to epic drama or calculatingly cold

People went from nice or not to a mix of the devil and angel, all in one

I am writing this in memoriam of everything and one who has led me to this place, this time and this person that I have become
